Advanced GPS Navigation Features and Descriptions

AutoPilot

  • Choose your heading and stay on it without lifting a finger. Just point the motor head or Humminbird cursor in the direction you want to travel, hit a button, and your boat will stay on that course while your motor corrects for wind, waves and current.

BackTrack

  • Turn your Humminbird current track into an iTrack. Automatically retrace it up to 2 miles and dial-in your BackTrack travel distance in 0.1 mile increments.
  • Select BackTrack to start navigating back through the Current Track, starting with the last recorded track point. The Current Track will be converted to a saved iTrack. While navigating BackTrack, the direction of navigation can be changed using the Reverse menu option.

Bluetooth

  • Bluetooth® connectivity gives you a fast, secure connection and allows for easy software updates via your Apple® or Android™ device to add new features to your system. Bluetooth also allows you to connect to your Talon or Raptor Shallow Water Anchors.

Circle Mode

  • Circle Mode allows you to navigate a set point in a circle, either clockwise or counterclockwise. You can also adjust the circle radius. Circle Mode cannot be activated from the Wireless remote, but the direction of travel and radius of the circle can be adjusted, and the function can be exited using the trolling motor remote.

Cruise Control

  • Helps to compensate for the variations in external forces that affect the speed over ground and keeps the boat traveling at an even speed. When Cruise Control is engaged, the current speed over ground becomes the Target Speed. Cruise Control works to control the propeller speed to match the Speed Over Ground to the Target Speed.

Drift Mode

  • Select Drift Mode to keep the boat at a controlled target speed when following a desired straight-line course regardless of wind or current influence. See the Drift Mode section for details.

Dodge Mode

  • Dodge Mode allows you to temporarily suspend select forms of navigation while allowing you to manually control steering and prop speed to steer around an obstacle without canceling navigation, and then easily resume the previously suspended form of navigation. Dodge Mode is available during Drift Mode.

Follow the Contour- Choose a contour – depth, bottom hardness or vegetation – on your Humminbird fish finder and your motor will automatically follow it.

  • Follow the Contour Offset- Change the offset when following contour lines.
  • Follow the Contour - Follow Shoreline
  • Follow the Contour/Shoreline at the Vessel with Cursor
  • Follow the Contour/Shoreline at Vessel with single button
  • Follow the Contour Dodge- Utilize Dodge Mode while following contour.
  • Follow the Contour Jog- Utilize Jog while in follow the Contour
    • Contour Jog Shallower- Allows to select next shallower contour line.
    • Contour Jog Deeper- Allow to to select next deeper contour line

Go To

  • Choose any Spot-Lock or iTrack that you want to return to, and Go To will activate your motor to take you back there automatically.
    • The Advanced GPS Navigation Go To features including Spot-Lock Locations, i-Tracks, Waypoints, or Routes can be accessed only through the Advanced GPS Navigation Full Size Wireless Remote or a connected Humminbird fish finder with Motor Sync turn “On”. Currently, the Go To functionality for Spot-Lock Locations, i-Tracks, Waypoints and Routes is not part of the One-Boat Network App.
    • Note: Up to 20 Spot-Lock or Waypoint locations can be recorded and up to 20 iTracks can be recorded and saved to the trolling motor, from the Advanced GPS Navigation Wireless Remote, the One-Boat Network App in Motor Controls or a connected Humminbird fishfinder. If the trolling motor is not connected to a Humminbird fish finder, a Wireless Remote must be used to engage and navigate the Go To data. Once the storage is full in the Advanced GPS Navigation system, the remote will display a Storage Full error screen. See Restoring My Data in the Owner’s Manual on how to delete some or all data to save more locations in the Advanced GPS Navigation system.
    • If the Advanced GPS Navigation equipped trolling motor is connected to a Humminbird fish finder with Motor Sync “On” and the storage becomes full, the remote will display a notification and the data will be forwarded and saved to the connected Humminbird fish finder. This data can be engages and navigated through the Go To function on the fish finder. Waypoints saved on the One-Boat Network App in Chart View map do not transfer to Advanced GPS Navigation system or show on the Full Size Wireless Remote.

High Speed Bypass

  • The Motor Speed with High Speed Bypass is set to 10 when engaged and returns to the previously set speed when disengaged.

Humminbird Integration

  • The ability to network with other compatible products including follow the contour, circle mode, control Minn Kota Trolling Motor Speed and Steering from a compatible Humminbird Unit.

Humminbird Virtual Remote

  • With Advanced GPS Navigation, you can control your motor from a virtual remote on your Humminbird screen when connected to a compatible Humminbird. Take command of speed, steering, Spot-Lock and Advanced AutoPilot, directly from your fish finder.

iTracks

  • The ability to record tracks for a distance of up to 2 miles. Also, able to adjust the offset during the track recording.

Locked Course AutoPilot

  • Uses compass heading but also GPS data to correct for cross winds, current and other external forces to keep the boat on the intended course. When Locked Course AutoPilot is turned on, it creates a course that it will follow. When you steer to a new heading, a new course is created. Locked Course AutoPilot will keep the boat on the course in most conditions.
    • NOTE: When very extreme conditions exist, such as very strong winds or current, the trolling motor may not have enough power to control the boat smoothly. In these extreme cases it may be best to use Locked Heading AutoPilot and let the boat move with the wind or current if the motor is not powerful enough to overcome it.

Locked Heading AutoPilot

  • Uses an internal compass to provide heading lock. When Locked Heading AutoPilot is on, it keeps the motor pointed in the same compass direction. If a manual steering correction is made, Locked Heading AutoPilot locks onto the new compass heading to which the boat was steered. This method of heading tracking does not take into account external forces, such as side winds or currents, which can allow side drift.

One-Boat Network Mobile App

  • Use your phone to access every navigation mode through the app’s digital remotes. Plus, you can control everything on your boat, from your Minn Kota trolling motor at the bow to your Raptor or Talon shallow water anchor at the stern. The app also includes Humminbird mapping tools and direct access to customer support.
    • Go To functionality for Spot-Lock Locations, i-Tracks, Waypoints and Routes is not part of the One-Boat Network App.

Spot-Lock

  • Uses a single point as a reference for the spot you want to stay Around the Spot-Lock location, Advanced GPS uses an arrival circle to determine prop speed and direction.
    • If Advanced GPS sees it is within the circle, it will adjust the motor speed to zero.
    • If Advanced GPS sees it is outside of the circle, it will control motor speed in an attempt to get the boat back into the circle.
