5.630 General Update Notes
The overall performance and functionality of XPLORE units has been improved.
CHART/NAVIGATION
- Resolved an issue with chart card type selection after a reboot.
- Improved the display of the Current Track line on the chart view.
- Enhanced the functionality of clearing the Current Track line.
- Resolved an issue with the Current Track causing the Chart View to display a blank screen.
- Refined Follow the Contour/Shoreline behavior while using SpotLock.
WAYPOINT, ROUTES, and TRACK MANAGEMENT
- Improved the accessibility of the SpotLock and iTrack Nav Tool lists.
- Addressed issues and introduced functional enhancements for transferring waypoints and groups between the fishfinder and the One Boat Network phone app.
MEGA Live
- Optimized the Maximize and Normalize functions for MEGA Live 2 split screen view.
- Resolved an issue with preset button three in Forward and Down Mode for MEGA Live 2.
- Enhanced performance of MEGA Live 2 recording playback.
SONAR 2D | DI | SI
- Improved 2D Sonar Contrast performance.
- Resolved screen clearing issues in SI view.
- Enhanced auto detection of digital depth sources.
- Fixed touch screen panning in 2D Sonar for smoother interaction.
- Adjusted sensitivity settings for the XI 14 HW transducer for better performance.
- Enhanced the playback functionality of the sonar recording tool.
SYSTEM
- Improved touch screen responsiveness.
- Corrected standby mode behavior when double-pressing the power button.
- Improved functionality of the “Power Off All Units” feature.
- Enhanced notifications when networking units with different software versions.
- Resolved Bluetooth connectivity issues when renaming your fishfinder.
- Enhanced compatibility with the SeaKeeper Ride tool.
- Improved functionality of the ShadowCaster lighting tool.
- Refined Ice Mode menu options for better usability.
New and Updated Features Introduced with Version 5.340
The following is also included with the 5.630 update
New Ice Features

Ice and Open Water Modes have been added to the XPLORE series. These modes quickly set unit defaults for ice fishing or fishing from a boat. In Ice Mode, the default icons and colors, GPS location indicator (boat icon), battery/voltage, and several other items have been updated to optimize the unit for ice fishing

An “ice flasher” view has also been added to support the new XI 14 HW ice fishing transducer.
New Power Menu
The Power Menu has been redesigned for improved usability and functionality. This new design provides quick access to several controls, including, backlight adjustment, sonar pinging on/off, and shortcut to sonar configuration settings.
New features have also been added:
- Power off all connected units
- Put all units into standby mode
- Temporarily disable the touchscreen (in the power menu settings)
- New automatic option for Night Mode (in the power menu options). This adjust backgrounds of the chart and sonar in addition to adjusting the backlight to a preset value.
Home Screen
The Home Screen has been improved to only show views that are functional by default until relevant accessories are connected. For example, sonar views will not appear until sonar is detected as connected locally or an option remotely over the network.
Favorites Setup
A short cut for setup and editing of Mark Waypoints Favorites options has been added to the My Data tool on the Home Screen.
Improved MEGA Live 2 Zoom
The touch and cursor zoom feature on MEGA Live 2 views have been improved.

Fusion/Audio Tool Improvements
- Both the Fusion and Audio Tools and Sidebars have been refreshed with update UI.
XPLORE 9 Battery Monitoring Support
- Minn Kota Battery Monitoring has been added to the XPLORE 9. The high voltage warning level also has options for 48V to support certain lithium batteries.
My Data Tool Scroll Bar “Jump List”
- This new feature allows for quicker navigation of Waypoint, Route, and Track lists inside the My Data tool.
Proximity Search (“Find Nearest”) from the Chart Info Menu

Cannon Optimum Connectivity and Sidebar Support

New Feature Update: Enhanced Cannon Optimum Downrigger Integration
- Users can now seamlessly pair, connect, and control Cannon Optimum downriggers directly from the One Boat Network tool. This integration allows full access to all Optimum settings, streamlining the setup and control process.

- The control interface has been redesigned for improved accessibility and responsiveness. Controls are now easier to reach via the Side Bar, and they dynamically scale based on the Humminbird control head screen size, ensuring a consistent and intuitive user experience across devices.

Expanded Compatibility
- The Cannon Optimum Sidebar is now fully compatible with the latest version of the FishHawk remote depth probe, offering enhanced functionality for anglers seeking precision and performance.
Important Notes and Prerequisites
Important 5.630 Update Information
NOTICE! Keep the unit powered on until the update is complete to avoid instability or data loss.
- Ensure the following accessory software versions (or newer) are installed for compatibility with version 5.630. These accessory updates are also included in the 5.630 file.
- MEGA Live: V1.320
- MEGA Live 2: V2.190
- MEGA Live TargetLock: V1.210
- i-Pilot Link (Bluetooth): V1.440
- Advanced GPS Navigation:
- Package: V2.280
- Controller: V2.240
- RAPTOR: V2.040
- TALON: V2.020
- DO NOT turn off the unit during the update!
- Use a Class 10 SD or Micro SD card (max 32GB) with 300 MB of free space.
- Remove any other cards (e.g., LakeMaster, Navionics) before updating.
- After installing the update, the factory recovery will be updated to the current version, and you cannot revert to previous versions.
- Defaults will be restored upon installation of the update.
Download and Update Instructions
Software Download Instructions
Save the .up2 file to your PC (this will most likely be saved in your Downloads folder) and move the .up2 file to your SD card.
- Connect the SD card to your computer and ensure it is detected.
- Open File Explorer
- Locate the update file in your Downloads section (see example below)
Example: - Cut/copy and paste the desired files from your computer to your SD card. You can also drag and drop items.
- Tip: If you use the “Cut and Paste” method, the files will only be saved on your SD card, freeing up space on your local disk.
- If you use the “Copy and Paste” method, you’ll get a duplicate of the chosen files, keeping a backup on your computer.
- Once the file has successfully saved on your card, safely disconnect your SD card.
Software Update Instructions
NOTICE! Keep the unit powered on until the update is complete to avoid instability or data loss.
Before you begin: make sure to remove any other card that may be present, such as a LakeMaster, Zero Lines, Navionics, etc., from the unit before initializing the new update.
Two Methods to Update:
Method 1: Automatic file recognition, recommended if you want to update you unit immediately.
Method 2: Update later from the Files Widget
Update Method 1
- Power on your XPLORE and follow the on-screen prompts to start in Normal Mode
- Insert the SD or Micro SD card containing the update file(s) into the control head card slot.
- A dialog box will display to start the software update as shown below.
- Select Install to begin the software update.
- If you wish to update later, select Cancel, and follow steps in Method 2 when you are ready to update.
- Your XPLORE will restart automatically upon completion.
Update Method 2
- With software update card already in the unit, power on and follow the on-screen prompts to start in Normal Mode.
- Press the HOME key
- Select the Tools widget from the Home Screen.
- Tap the Software Updates icon.
- From the Software Update tab, scroll to This Unit
- Confirm that the most current version of software is selected from the list. Select Install Now
Important! Do NOT remove the SD card or power off your Humminbird until the software update is complete.
