Can I use a new HW MEGA SI+, HW MEGA DI+, HW MEGA SI, HW MEGA DI transducers with first-generation HELIX, HELIX G2/G2N, or first-generation SOLIX products?
These transducers are not compatible with previous models. New 2019 MEGA Imaging+ and MEGA Imaging transducers that also contain High Wide Dual Spectrum CHIRP sonar cannot be used with fish finders released prior to the Helix G3/G3N and SOLIX G2 Series.
New technologies like MEGA Imaging+ are made possible by a combination of new hardware in the fish finder and transducer, as well as new software in the fish finder. Because of this, these new transducers are technologically beyond and incompatible with previous models of Humminbird fish finders and will not provide upgraded sonar capabilities to previous Humminbird models.
The only exception to this is the Minn Kota Built-In MEGA DI trolling motor transducer. A special mode was created to support the Built-in MEGA Down Imaging transducer and allow HELIX CHIRP G2/G2N and first-generation SOLIX products to connect with the Built-in MEGA DI transducer with Dual Spectrum CHIRP sonar.
More information and a full list of fish finders compatible with the Minn Kota Built-In MEGA Imaging trolling motors can be found here. Our Transducer Compatibility Tool will allow you to select a Humminbird unit and a Humminbird transducer to discover their degree of compatibility.
If you do not have a transducer part number this tool may not help you at this time. If you do have a transducer part number and want to know what sonar frequencies your unit can use from this transducer, it will be helpful.
Currently this tool covers our Legacy (300, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1100), Piranha, PiranhaMAX, ICE Flashers, HELIX, SOLIX and APEX models and current line transducers.
