Can I use my existing SOLIX - Gen 1 or ONIX 2D sonar transducer with my new SOLIX G2 / G3 unit?
For optimal performance, we recommend that you use the newest transducers with Dual Spectrum CHIRP for your APEX and SOLIX G2 / G3 unit. Although some older model transducers will work with your new APEX or SOLIX unit, they will not perform at the highest level that your Humminbird is capable of achieving with a Dual Spectrum CHIRP transducer. The non-Dual Spectrum CHIRP transducers compatible with new APEX and SOLIX G2 /G3 models are:
Dual Spectrum CHIRP 2D Transducers
- XNT 14 20 T
- XP 14 20 T
- XP 14 20
- XTM 14 20 T
- XPTH 14 20 T
Side Imaging and Down Imaging Transducers
Previous models of Side Imaging and Down Imaging transducers for first-generation SOLIX and ONIX models are compatible with APEX and SOLIX G2 / G3 Series units. However, the newer models that support newer Dual Spectrum CHIRP 2D sonar will not upgrade the performance of an older transducer or allow it to provide a newer technology. This is due to different components used in the transducers, which help provide their respective capabilities and technologies. Thus, if a transducer was not capable of Dual Spectrum CHIRP, MEGA Imaging, or MEGA Imaging+, connecting it to an APEX or SOLIX G2 / G3 Series model will not provide that newer sonar technology.
Our Transducer Compatibility Tool will allow you to select a Humminbird unit and a Humminbird transducer to discover their degree of compatibility.
If you do not have a transducer part number this tool may not help you at this time. If you do have a transducer part number and want to know what sonar frequencies your unit can use from this transducer, it will be helpful.
Currently this tool covers our Legacy (300, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1100), Piranha, PiranhaMAX, ICE Flashers, HELIX, SOLIX and APEX models and current line transducers.
