Minn Kota Steer function keeps dropping or is not working.

If the Minn Kota Steer feature is not working or is intermittent, please check the following:

  1. Ensure the Minn Kota Ultrex is an i-Pilot Link model. Minn Kota Steer is not available for i-Pilot only.
  2. Check to ensure the software version for the Humminbird, MEGA Live, MEGA Live TargetLock, and the i-Pilot Link are up to date. Versions should be as follows:
    • Humminbird HELIX: Version 2.750 or higher
    • Humminbird APEX/SOLIX: Version 4.070 or higher
    • MEGA Live: Version 1.170 or higher
    • MEGA Live TargetLock: Version 1.140 or higher
    • i-Pilot Link: Version 1.430 or higher
  3. Heading sensors for the i-Pilot Link and the MEGA Live Target Lock must be paired and functioning.
  4. Check the Humminbird Accessory Test view (HELIX) or Network Info page (SOLIX and APEX), and make sure Trolling Motor shows CONNECTED.
    • If showing UNCONNECTED, check for power and make sure ethernet connections are secure.
  5. Ensure there are no network or power cables that have been disconnected, pinched or damaged.
  6. If all of the above is correctly installed, updated and functioning, but Minn Kota Steer is not responding, reboot all Humminbird and Minn Kota products in your network.
