Determining card type loaded in your Humminbird unit.

Your Humminbird unit displays information unique to what type of card is inserted:

No card detectedSimple Storage, LakeMaster VX, LakeMaster Premium, Legacy LakeMasterLegacy LakeMaster PLUSLegacy SmartStrikeLouisiana DeltaCoastMasterCoastMaster PremiumZero LineChartSelect and Navionics.

HELIX models will provide this information in the SD Card field on the GPS Diagnostic View as shown below. HELIX models with two card slots will have two SD Card fields, and models with one card slot will show only one SD Card field.

To navigate: Power unit on in Normal Mode > press the MENU button twice to open main menu > use LEFT or RIGHT cursor to select Views > use the DOWN cursor key to select GPS Diagnostic View > use RIGHT cursor key to set to Visible > press the EXIT button twice to leave the main menu > press the VIEW or EXIT buttons to cycle through the views until you land on the GPS Diagnostic View screen.

SOLIX and APEX models will provide this information in the Chart Card Info menu option.

To navigate: Power unit on in Normal mode > press the HOME key> select Settings > select Chart > select Humminbird: Chart Card Info.

No Card Detected

  • HELIX

    • The three dashes will show when there is no card present or if the card inserted is not compatible or damaged.
  • APEX and SOLIX

    • "Card Type: No SD Card" is displayed when there is no card present or if the card inserted is not compatible or damaged.

Simple Storage SD Card

  • HELIX

    • An SD or MicroSD card used strictly for storage of waypoints, update files, or sonar recordings will appear as above. The first number is the space available on the card and the second is the card's total capacity.
  • APEX and SOLIX

    • An SD or MicroSD card used strictly for storage of waypoints, update files, or sonar recordings will appear as: "Card Type: Data card".

LakeMaster VX

  • HELIX

    • The LakeMaster cards with VX will appear as shown above with VX followed by the region covered, STANDARD LM and then the version number.
  • APEX and SOLIX

    • LakeMaster with VX cards will show as depicted above with the card type, card name, part number, release date, chart file size, and map version info displayed.

LakeMaster Premium

  • HELIX

    • The LakeMaster Premium cards will appear as shown above with VX followed by the region covered, PREMIUM LM and then the version number.
  • APEX and SOLIX

Legacy LakeMaster

  • HELIX

    • Standard LakeMaster cards appear as shown above with the region abbreviated followed by the version number. In this example, the LakeMaster Southeast States V5 is represented.
    • NOTE: In the case of the card being Version 1 (V1), there will be no version number displayed.
  • APEX and SOLIX

    • LakeMaster cards will appear as, "Card type: Humminbird".

Legacy LakeMaster PLUS

  • HELIX

    • LakeMaster PLUS cards show as above with the abbreviated region followed by PL to indicate PLUS, and then the version number. In this example, the LakeMaster Plus Minnesota V4 is represented.
    • NOTE: In the case of the card being Version 1 (V1), there will be no version number displayed.
  • APEX and SOLIX

    • LakeMaster PLUS cards will appear as, "Card type: Humminbird".

Legacy SmartStrike

  • HELIX

    • SmartStrike cards show as above with the abbreviated region followed by SS to indicate SmartStrike, and then the version number. In this example, the SmartStrike Great Lakes Version 3 is represented.
    • NOTE: In the case of the card being Version 1 (V1), there will be no version number displayed.

Louisiana Delta

CoastMaster

  • HELIX

CoastMaster Premium
