What information shares when I network my Humminbird units together?
See full compatibility of network sharing of sonar information here. All Series.
When networked together via Ethernet, APEX, XPLORE, and SOLIX G3 models will share:
- Preferences and Menu Settings
- Waypoints, Tracks & Routes
- Transducer information (sonar, imaging and temperature)*
- GPS signal
- Map card information
- Advanced GPS Navigation information and control
- Bluetooth Raptor Control
- Bluetooth Talon Control
- MEGA 360 Imaging
- MEGA Live 1
- MEGA Live 2
- Humminbird CHIRP radar
- AIS
- FUSION accessories
- HTML5 Apps
- NMEA 2000 network information
Please note: SOLIX G1, SOLIX G2, and HELIX models will not network with XPLORE units. SOLIX G3 and APEX units running software versions prior to 5.060 will also not network with XPLORE or MEGA Live 2.
When networked together via Ethernet, APEX and APEX, SOLIX and SOLIX, or APEX and SOLIX models will share:
- Preferences and Menu Settings
- Waypoints, Tracks & Routes
- Transducer information (sonar, imaging and temperature)*
- GPS signal
- Map card information
- Advanced GPS Navigation information and control
- Bluetooth Raptor Control
- Bluetooth Talon Control
- 360 Imaging
- Software version 4.190 (SOLIX & APEX) removed support for 360 Imaging (non-MEGA).
- MEGA 360 Imaging
- MEGA Live 1
- Humminbird CHIRP radar
- AIS
- FUSION accessories
- HTML5 Apps
- NMEA 2000 network information
Please note: SOLIX models running software versions 3.360 and later will not network with ONIX units. SOLIX units running software versions prior to 3.360 will network with ONIX units and will share the information stated above, except for select sonar, such as MEGA Imaging, across all units on the network.
When networked together via Ethernet, HELIX and HELIX models will share:
- Waypoints
- Transducer information (sonar, imaging and temperature)*
- GPS Signal (not mapping)
- Advanced GPS Navigation information and control
- Bluetooth Raptor Control
- Bluetooth Talon Control
- 360 Imaging
- Software version 2.890 (HELIX) removed support for 360 Imaging (non-MEGA).
- MEGA 360 Imaging (see note below)
- MEGA Live 1 (see note below)
- Humminbird CHIRP RADAR
- NMEA 2000 network information (HELIX G1, G2N, and G3N only)
Please note: Only HELIX G2N or newer models will be able to share MEGA Side Imaging(+) and MEGA Down Imaging(+) views. MEGA 360 and MEGA Live imaging is limited to select HELIX models.
Please see above link for more information about sonar sharing compatibility between networked fish finders.
When networked together via Ethernet, HELIX and SOLIX or HELIX and APEX models will share:
- Waypoints
- Advanced GPS Navigation information and control
- 360 Imaging (note that HELIX and SOLIX/APEX will not share MEGA 360 with each other)
- Software version 4.190 (SOLIX & APEX) and 2.890 (HELIX) removed support for 360 Imaging (non-MEGA).
- Humminbird CHIRP radar
- MEGA Live 1 (see notes below)
- Bluetooth Raptor Control (see notes below)
- Bluetooth Talon Control (see notes below)
- NMEA 2000 network information (see notes below)
IMPORTANT! APEX, XPLORE and SOLIX G3 with software version 5.060 or later will not share the information above with HELIX, and cannot be present on the same network.
Additional Ethernet sharing notes:
- Depending on technology built into each networked fish finder, some sonar images, such as MEGA Live or MEGA 360, may not be shared if unable to be supported by your unit’s software. Ensure that you are running the latest software by finding updates here.
- If both HELIX and SOLIX / APEX are on the network and need control of Minn Kota's Bluetooth Raptors or Talons, then at least one SOLIX / APEX and one HELIX G2N/G3N must be paired to the Bluetooth raptor or Talon at the same time.
- When HELIX and SOLIX / APEX are on the network and need to view NMEA2000 data, then at least one SOLIX / APEX and one HELIX G2N/G3N must be connected to the NMEA 2000 network. The HELIX G2N/G3N would be connected via the AS ETH NMEA2K, NMEA2000 Gateway. The AS ETH NMEA2K is not compatible with HELIX G4N models, which use the AS QD NMEA 2000 instead, and G4N models do not share NMEA2000 data over network.
- While an ONIX and SOLIX can network with each other, they must be on the same software version. Any SOLIX with a software version higher or later than 3.350 will not network with an ONIX.
-
An individual Ethernet switch allows connection of up to five Ethernet capable products. One Ethernet network can contain up to three AS ETH 5PXG switches or five AS ETH 5PGL switches daisy chained together (restrictions and compatibility requirements apply).
- When using the AS ETH 5PGL, the network can contain up to 20 total networking products, including up to five Humminbird fish finders. Not all Legacy products are compatible, please see compatibility notes here.
-
When using the AS ETH 5PXG, the network is limited to a total of four Humminbird fish finders. Up to three sonar modules(SM1000, SM2000 and/or SM3000) can be connected simultaneously.
-
Multiple Ethernet accessories can be connected as long as there are no duplicate accessories attached to the same network. To clarify, You cannot have more than one source for 360 Imaging (MEGA or non-MEGA), MEGA Live Imaging, TargetLock, or CHIRP Radar in a single network.
-
You cannot loop nor multi-path with Ethernet switches.
