HumminbirdPC not Connecting to Google Earth

HumminbirdPC Not Connecting to Google Earth

If HumminbirdPC is unable to open or connect to Google Earth, the issue is typically related to how Google Earth is installed or how HumminbirdPC is locating the Google Earth program file.

Recommended Installation Order

If HumminbirdPC was installed first and Google Earth was installed afterward using the HumminbirdPC prompt, the software usually detects Google Earth automatically. If this does not occur, reinstalling both programs separately often resolves the issue.

Manually Linking Google Earth in HumminbirdPC

  1. Open HumminbirdPC.
  2. Select View in Google Earth.
  3. When prompted with “Do you have Google Earth installed?”, click Yes.
  4. Browse to the location where Google Earth is installed and select googleearth.exe.

The default installation path on most 64‑bit Windows systems is:

C:\Program Files\Google\Google Earth Pro\client

If Google Earth was installed in a different location, browse to that folder and select googleearth.exe manually.

Additional Troubleshooting

If HumminbirdPC still does not connect after selecting the correct executable:

  • Ensure Google Earth Pro (not a web version) is installed and has been opened at least once.
  • Run HumminbirdPC as Administrator.
  • Temporarily disable antivirus software, pop‑up blockers, or endpoint security tools and test again.
  • Verify Google Earth is not installed under a user‑restricted directory.
  • On some systems, Google Earth may be installed under a different Program Files directory (for example, 32‑bit paths).

If the issue persists after these steps, the problem is likely related to local system security restrictions or software conflicts rather than HumminbirdPC itself.
