Waypoints: Adding and Editing

Mastering Waypoints on Your Humminbird Fishfinder

Whether you're marking a productive fishing spot, a submerged structure, or a safe route back to shore, waypoints are essential tools for making the most of your time on the water. Humminbird fishfinders offer powerful waypoint management features that help you navigate with confidence and precision.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the simple steps to add and edit waypoints using both the Chart View and the System screens.

Add Waypoints

• Chart View
  1. Select a view that contains a Chart View
  2. From the touch screen press and hold the spot you would like to set as a waypoint.
  3. Select the marker icon and color you would like to use
  4. To make any changes, just select the newly created waypoint
  5. From the Waypoint Info menu select any of the categories to make your changes and once changes have been made select SAVE if prompted.  Otherwise the changes will save automatically. 
  6. Once completed, just click on the X on the right side of the menu to return to your navigation screen.
• Home Screen
  1. Power the unit on
  2. Press the HOME Key
  3. Tap on My Data
  4. Press the + icon in the top right of the screen
  5. Choose Waypoint at Lan/Lon
  6. Enter the coordinates and tap Save

Edit Waypoints

• Chart View
  1. Tap on the Waypoint you have already marked or move the cursor over the waypoint icon.
  2. Press the Check Mark Key or Tap on the Waypoint name in the top Menu banner
  3. Select the box containing the information you wish to edit and make your changes
  4. Tap Save
  5. Confirm your changes were made.
• Home Screen
  1. Power the unit on
  2. Press the HOME Key
  3. Tap on My Data
  4. Tap or select the waypoint you want to edit
  5. Make your changes and tap Save

Add Waypoints

1. Select a view that contains a Chart View
2. From the touch screen press and hold the spot you would like to set as a waypoint.
3. The Cursor Menu will appear, Select Waypoint
4. Select the marker icon and color you would like to use
5. To make any changes, just select the newly created waypoint
6. From the Waypoint Info menu select any of the categories to make your changes and once changes have been made select SAVE if prompted.  Otherwise the changes will save automatically. 
7. Once completed, just click on the X on the right side of the menu to return to your navigation screen.  

Edit Waypoints

1. Press and hold the Waypoint you have already marked
2. In the box titled Cursor, press the Info key.  This will show the waypoint information.
3. Select the box containing the information you wish to edit and make your changes
4. Once you have completed editing, press the back arrow at the top until you see the X and then press X to exit that screen
5. Confirm your changes were made.

Add Waypoints

1. Power the unit on allow it to go through Normal Start Up
2. Press the Menu button twice
3. Right cursor to the Nav Menu tab
4. Down cursor to Waypoints, Routes and Tracks
5. Right cursor
6. Up cursor to Option and right cursor
7. Right cursor to New
8. Down cursor to New Waypoint and then right cursor
9. You can either leave the name as a number or you can rename the waypoint
10. Down cursor to the Icon Category and set to All
11. Continue to cursor down as you complete each section of information.
12. Once you have finished right cursor to save and right cursor again. 

Edit Waypoints

1. Ensure your unit is fully powered ON. 
2. Press the MENU key two times
3. Cursor with your right arrow to the NAV Menu Tab,
4. Cursor down to Waypoints Routes and Tracks
5. Cursor right. 
6. Cursor down to the Waypoint you wish to edit
7. Cursor right on Edit. 
8. Cursor to the information you wish to change
9. Cursor right to Edit
10. Change the appropriate information
11. Cursor down to Save
12. Cursor Right
13. Press the Exit key two times
14. Verify that the waypoint changes were made.
