Program Will Not Open. Nothing Happens When Icon is Clicked

As of October 1, 2023 we no longer support the Contour Elite product.

The contents featured in the article below may still be of use to you however, and so will continue to be available.

For Windows 7 or Vista users (XP users look below): Someone reported that when they double click on the Contour Elite icon on the desktop, nothing happens. The solution was to right click on the desktop icon and select "Run as Administrator".

If this doesn't work, try setting up another user account with administrative rights and attempt to open Contour Elite with this new account. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Control Panel and select "User Accounts"
2. Click on "Manage another account"
3. Click on "Create a new account" and give the new account a name and give it Administrative rights
4. Go back to Manage another account like you did in step 2
5. Select the account you just created and click on "create a password". Give the account a password.
6. Go to the start button and switch to the new user or log off and then login as the new user.
7. Attempt to open Contour Elite.

Some Windows 7 users may be able to simply right click on the Contour Elite icon and select "Run as different user" and then enter the username and password for the new account.

For Windows XP users, if you encounter this problem, try this:
1. Go to Control Panel and open User Accounts.
2. Select to create a new account.
3. Give it a name and assign it Administrative rights.
4. Back in the original User Accounts window, select "change an account" and select the name of the new account you just created.
5. Select "create a password" and give the account a password.
6. Right click on the Contour Elite icon and select "Run as". Then select "The following user" and put in the new account name and password.
