Side Imaging Orientation

What is Side Imaging Orientation?

Select Humminbird Side Imaging models contain a menu option while in Side Imaging View that allows you to change the orientation of how your Side Imaging is displayed.  Reverse Orientation can be used for a couple of different reasons.  (Not all Side Imaging units have this view)

1.  The boat has the bronze through hull Side Imaging transducer pair installed incorrectly and you need to change the perspective of the view instead of removing and reinstalling the bronze pair.

2.  The fishermen has the Side Imaging unit installed on the boats transom, and they are back trolling.  This allows the fisherman to see the correct perspective of the port and starboard beams.

In an APEX/SOLIX/ONIX/ION unit, you would:

  1. Press the HOME key
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Sonar
  4. Under Side Imaging, select SI Orientation
  5. To display the beams as the transducer is installed select Normal
  6. To change how the beams are displayed so that port and starboard are switched, select Reverse

In a HELIX Side Imaging unit:

  1. Insure your unit is in Advanced User Mode
  2. Select the Sonar Menu tab
  3. Scroll down to SI orientation
  4. To display the beams as the transducer is installed select Normal
  5. To change how the beams are displayed so that port and starboard are switched, select Reverse.
