Here is a list of nomenclatures and features for the various model names in the PiranhaMAX, HELIX, SOLIX and APEX product lines.

Transducer Style in Standard Pack Out
Transom - standard pack out on all non-CHO models. Can be exchanged for a different transducer type if needed.
Portable - product name ends with suffix PT, comes with a portable case and portable suction cup transducer.
Networking Capabilities - none
HELIX
Display Type - Non Touch
Display Sizes Available - 5", 7", 8", 9", 10", 12", 15"
Mounting Options - Dash mount or In-dash mount
Sonar Types offered (display size dependent) - 2D CHIRP, Down Imaging (DI), MEGA Down Imaging (MDI), MEGA Down Imaging+ (MDI+), Side Imaging (SI), MEGA Side Imaging (MSI), MEGA Side Imaging+(MSI+)
Transducer Style in Standard Pack Out
Without Transducer - product name ends with suffix CHO. Transducer not included so it can be used with a Minn Kota trolling motor that has built-in sonar or it you need a special Airmar transducer that Humminbird does not stock.
Transom - standard pack out on all non-CHO models. Can be exchanged for a different transducer type if needed.
Portable- product name ends with suffix PT, comes with a portable case and portable suction cup transducer. Only HELIX 5 models have a portable version available.
ICE - these product names begin with the prefix ICE and come with portable cases, battery, charger and ice ducer. There are also special ice bundles available.
Networking Capabilities - we have networking and non-networking products. Networking products will have an N in their name. Example: HELIX 15 CHIRP MEGA DI+ GPS G4N. If there is no N in the generation name, it will not network.
Networking capable options are: Ethernet networking, NMEA018, and NMEA2000. Additional purchases are required.
Example of a non-networking product: HELIX 5 CHIRP GPS G3.
GPS - all current line HELIX products include an internal GPS receiver. Older versions of HELIX had GPS and non GPS options. If GPS is not part of the model name, it does not include internal GPS.
Product generation is indicated by a G followed by a number and then possibly a N as indicated under networking capabilities. The exception to this would be the 1st generation of the HELIX Series products. There was no generation listed on those model names. Examples of newer generations are: G2, G2N, G3, G3N, G4 and G4N.
SOLIX
