Selecting GPS Source on APEX, SOLIX, AND HELIX Models

This article gives an overview of selecting the GPS source on a HELIX, SOLIX, or APEX units.

APEX Selecting GPS Source

  1. Press Home.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Network. 
  4. Select Data Sources. 
  5. You can then select Heading and GPS Sources.

SOLIX Selecting GPS Source

  1. Press Home.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Network.
  4. Select Data Sources.  
  5. You can then select Heading and GPS Sources.

HELIX Selecting GPS Source

  1. Push the Menu button twice.
  2. Arrow over and select Network.
  3. Scroll down to Network Source Setup.
  4. Select GPS Tab.
  5. The list of GPS sources will show below.

Selecting Minn Kota i-Pilot Link or Advanced GPS Trolling Motor as GPS Heading Source

Note: Humminbird Fishfinders are only able to network with Compatible Minn Kota Trolling Motors.

  • On Minn Kota 2017 or newer i-Pilot Link or an Advanced GPS trolling motors with an external heading sensor paired to the motor, the heading source will come from the heading sensor.  
  • When Selecting Minn Kota Quest trolling motors the heading information is communicated from the controller head of the trolling motor. 
  • On Minn Kota Legacy non Bluetooth enabled trolling motors a GPS receiver is required to enable navigation features on the Humminbird Fishfinder.
