Maps not Loading on the One Boat Network App

When Installing the One Boat Network App for the first time, you will notice the Chart View will have a message "Preparing Chart" until all necessary map files are downloaded. The total space required for these files is approximately 2 GB.

Once the download is complete, the message will disappear and our Humminbird Basemap will be visible on the "Chart View" screen. The "OFFLINE CHARTS" section of the "My Charts" will also look like the example below with "Download Basemap" and, if subscribed to VX Charts, "Download Areas" visible in yellow:

 

These files should begin downloading immediately, and we also recommend turning on the Auto-Lock Disable feature during the map file download process. 

In situations where the download has been interrupted, or some other external factor prevented the initial download from completing, you may see that the "Preparing Chart" never clears. 

If you experience this, perform the following recommended steps for either Android or iOS depending on what mobile device you are using.

Android

  1. Uninstall the OBN App
  2. Clear the Android Download Manager data
    1. Open Settings app
    2. Select Apps

    3. Select the Filter icon

    4. Enable "Show System Apps", then select "OK"

    5. Select "Download Manager" from the app list

    6. Select "Storage"

    7. Select "Clear Data" then "OK"

  3. Reinstall the OBN App
  4. Sign in with your ChartSelect/OBN Account, and map files will begin downloading again.
    • We recommend using the Auto-Lock Disable feature during this process.

iOS

  1. Uninstall and Reinstall the One Boat Network app.
    • It is not necessary to delete any additional files because uninstalling the app removes all associated data. 
      • Notice! This includes any settings or waypoints marked on the App. 
  2. Reinstall the OBN App
  3. Sign in with your ChartSelect/OBN Account, and map files will begin downloading again.
    • We recommend using the Auto-Lock Disable feature during this process.
