Power Button is Pushed and Screen Does Not Load
- Display problems can sometimes be mistaken for power problems. To determine if it is a display problem, the first step is to check if the keypad backlights (if applicable) are visible. For models without backlit buttons, it would be helpful to press the buttons and listen for responsive sounds. If the backlights are not visible, then the issue is likely related to power and not a problem with the display.
- Check if your unit is in "Night Mode" by pressing the power button once for HELIX, SOLIX, and APEX models while the unit is already powered on.
- Shining a light on the screen can help you determine if there is a display issue with no backlight.
- The next step would be moving on to troubleshooting potential power issues. Please refer to the video and link below for troubleshooting power issues.

Note: Water left on the Touch screen of your SOLIX or APEX can cause erratic activity, especially when in direct sunlight.
Condensation
Although your Humminbird unit is waterproof, the air within the unit contains moisture due to natural humidity. Due to this, some fogging is normal on cooler days. A Humminbird fish finder can get hot due to the sun warming the air in the depth sounder, trapping moist air between the display and the lens. The Spring and the Fall are the most typical times of year that we hear about this. This situation can be avoided or reduced by storing in a protected and safe area at outside temperatures. The situation should clear after about one hour of use. If not, the unit can be sent in for service. However please understand that we cannot stop a unit from having condensation under the above conditions. Please click here to contact Humminbird for service options.
If you have a glass bonded color display (in our 800 Series and higher products) condensation cannot form as there is no void between the display and the lens.
